Game development with Scratch: Level II
In this course, students deepen their understanding of programming concepts previously learned in Scratch Level I. They focus more intensely on using conditional statements to control the flow of their programs, enabling more complex and dynamic interactions. Additionally, students explore the concept of clones, leveraging them to create more engaging and challenging games. They delve into advanced blocks within each category, such as utilizing the gliding block and mastering the coordinate system for precise control of sprite movement. Students further enhance their projects by applying graphic effects like color changes, fisheye, and pixelation to sprites. They also utilize broadcast messages extensively to facilitate smoother interactions between sprites, fostering a more cohesive gaming experience. Furthermore, students harness the power of variables, incorporating multiple variables into their games and utilizing them alongside conditionals to create dynamic and engaging gameplay. Operators such as greater than, less than, AND, and OR are employed more frequently to coordinate actions based on specific conditions, adding depth and complexity to their projects. Through intensive practice and exploration, students elevate their programming skills to a higher level of proficiency.
